Chapter 27:

October 10th, 2012

“Babe let me stretch, you’re distracting me.”

I pushed away from Justin and he tried pulling me back towards him. I just laughed and told him no over and over again.

“But- one last kiss before I have to leave.” He said pointing to his cheek.

I rolled my eyes at him and pecked his cheek quickly. He dropped his jaw and shook his head as he was pulled away by Scooter to go get ready.

“I will get my real kiss later!” he yelled after me.

I shook my head and sat on the ground with the other dancers to stretch. I’d come so accustomed to getting ready for each concert and performing each concert now, it was like breathing for me. And it’d only been what, a week? I was getting used to this lifestyle.

“You and Justin are the most adorbs couple ever!” One of the girl dancers said as she sat down next to me and took a sip out of her water bottle.

“Awe thanks Aubrey!” I blushed. “I’m just hoping no one minds that we’re like this… I don’t want to annoy people.”

“Oh honey, you’re not annoying anybody-“

“But it would be nice if you stopped.” Someone interrupted.

I looked over to see Chloe, another girl dancer. The room went silent and everyone kind of froze. We were all shocked by what she had said…

“Excuse me?” I said as nicely as possible.

“All you ever do is kiss and hug him. You’re always all over him and it gets really annoying.” She snapped back.
“Listen, I’m not trying to be a bitch, but I don’t see a problem considering he’s MY boyfriend.”

“(YN) you might wanna stop-“ Jon interrupted.

“Hold up,” I pushed him back and looked her straight in the eye, “I know you don’t like me. I’m sorry for whatever I did to make it that way, but I hope one day you can just stop this and accept that I’m here to stay for a while. I’m a dancer now, and all I’m asking is for you to tolerate me, at least for a little bit.”

She glared at me and pushed me as she left the room. Everyone sat quietly while I stared blankly forward. Chloe never liked me because I was better than her. I don’t mean that in a mean way, but we all knew it. Chloe was a great dancer, but Justin probably could have picked someone more fit for the job. She always complained, and the tour just started. I was scared as to what would come in the future.

She seemed so nice to everyone else, and then there was me. She hated me, absolutely despised me. She was not only jealous that I was dating Justin, she was jealous that we showed it. She was a huge belieber so I understood from her point of view, but can’t she accept that fact that we’re happy?

“(YN)? It’s time to go on soon.” Nick waved a hand in front of my face.

I jumped back into reality where my thoughts diminished. Time to go on… with Chloe… my favorite person ever right now.

I nodded and we all walked out together under the stage. Chloe was already there waiting, this is where she must’ve came when she stormed off. I stood on the opposite side of the stage from her, just so I wouldn’t cause any problems during tonight’s concert.

When the music started and we came up on stage, everything seemed to start going well. We all danced with serious or smiling faces and everything was fine. Justin turned to smile at me occasionally but mostly had his attention on the crowd. I danced along to each dance as I usually did. I got better at them and pretty much had them perfected now.

Now we were dancing gracefully behind Justin to Catching feelings. Two dancers were up in the air, connected to a tall pole where they waved their arms that had long flags connected to the poles. This was one of my favorite.

I took a jump and landed it as usual, but now I was placed directly next to Chloe. She seemed to have brushed the problem off and the smile on her face told me that she pretty much forgot about earlier today. I smiled and told myself that I’d talk to her after the concert. I’d try to make things better and hopefully it turned out.

I was walking past her when I suddenly lost balance. Something had gotten in my way and before I knew it, I was on the floor in pain. My ankle was badly hurt from the fall and so was my arm. Either one or both of them was broken, it was hard to tell with the pain everywhere in my body.

The few girls who were on the ground had to continue their dance, as said in the rehearsals for the concert, but the guy dancers who were watching from behind stage saw and immediately picked me up and escorted me off of the stage. I looked to Justin and he only saw a glimpse of me before I disappeared behind curtains. I was laid down on a couch where the doctor backstage checked me out. Scooter and Fredo were by my side right away, worried as ever.

“Are you okay?” Scooter said frantically.

“I’m hoping so- ow!”

The doctor shifted my foot and I knew that it was broken right away from the pain. He rambled off words and words and before I knew it was being taken in a back room where the wrapped up my foot and put it in a boot. Fredo was by my side the whole time so at least I had someone to talk to while I was lying in agony.

“How’d you fall? You always perfect this dance…” Fredo said surprised.

“I didn’t fall, I was tripped.” I reported.

“It was the outfit wasn’t it? Damn, I told the stylists there would be a problem sooner or later and no one believed me!”

“Fredo calm down,” I laughed. “It wasn’t the outfit. Chloe tripped me.”

I was expecting a surprised expression but Fredo wasn’t… at all. I stared at him as he searched for an answer.

“She has got to go.” He said quietly. “She’s flirting with JB, she’s forgetting the dances, and now she hurt you. We can’t have this anymore.”

I stared at him in confusion. I knew that she liked Justin, but I had no idea that she was actually flirting with him.

“What did you say?” I asked.

“She hurt you?”

“No the first thing, what was that? She’s flirting with Justin?”

Fredo looked away and cleared his throat. Something was up, and someone didn’t tell me about it.

“She has been texting Justin some stuff and talking to him every chance she gets… He doesn’t flirt back or anything, he’s just friendly, but- here look at this.” Fredo pulled Justin’s personal phone out of his pocket and handed it to me. I unlocked it and went to the messages and clicked on ‘Chloe’.

She was sending him crazy messages about how she wanted to be with him and that he should break up with me. I was supposed to be upset about it, but I wasn’t, because Justin replied in a formal manner and didn’t reject her but simply told her that he was happy with me and he wasn’t planning on leaving anytime soon.

I handed the phone back to Fredo and laid my head down on the pillow. The paper beneath my head made noise as I moved around.

“We can’t fire her, then there’ll be two spots open and one is already bad enough.” I said sadly.

“We’ve actually discussed this with management. We’ve got one spot covered, hers, and I have actually been working on a backup that I think you’ll be happy with.”

“Oh God, what’d you do Fredo?” I smiled.

“Well the backup dancer should be arriving right about now… ARI!”

My eyes shot to the door where Ari walked in with a duffle bag hanging over her shoulder. She ran to my bedside and hugged me, giving me a kiss on the cheek.

“I missed you!” I yelled as I finally sat up.

She said the same back and sat down after giving Fredo a kiss on the lips. I see where there relationship stands now… they were finally dating!

“Ari, you’re a backup backup dancer now?” I asked.

“Well I’ll be subbing for you until you get better and after that Chloe will be fired and I’ll take over for her so technically I’m permanent!”

I squealed in excitement and hugged her again. She told me about how she’d been taking classes on dancing and then she was taught the choreography for Justin’s tour. It was amazing how everything turned out so for.

Justin came running off the stage and before anything he found me. He was all sweaty and his skin was burning but he still ran to my bedside and grabbed my hand.

“Babe are you okay? I saw everything that happened and I’ll have her fired I’m so-“

“Justin, I’m fine.” I laughed, “I just kind of broke my ankle. I have to where a boot for a while but I’ll be back in no time. I gotta take a little break.”

Fredo filled him in on everything while Ari and I caught up. Justin never let go of my hand while we were sitting there, which wasn’t very long.

“Alright guys, time to pack up!” Scrappy yelled to everyone backstage. NEXT STOP CALGARY!”

Everyone cheered and grabbed their bags to leave and put on the tour buses. I sat up and swung my feet around the side of the bed and went to stand up, but my ankle was too weak to stand on. Justin caught me before I fell and I grabbed onto him for dear life.

“Baby, I’ll carry you.” He insisted.

He held me in his arms as we walked out to the tour buses together. In the back of the arena, thousands of fans were waiting for Justin. I was amazed at how many actually stayed. They were all behind fences but I felt like they’d break any minute, they were pushing so much. Justin continued to carry me towards the bus stares like he said he would.

“Guys let’s take a picture.” I suggested.

Fredo held Ari in his arms just as Justin did to me and we took a few photos outside of the bus before we got on. Justin sat me on the couch before going back out and taking picture with the fans and stuff.

“Hey Fredo will you hand me that envelope on the counter?”

He handed me an envelope with all of my info on the front of it. I ripped the top open and slipped out a fancy piece of paper with ‘Sister’ written neatly in cursive on the front. It was from my brother, obviously. We chose not to tell each other our names yet because of the sake of our parents and everything. I don’t know, don’t ask. I read the letter carefully:

Dear Sister,

I’m thinking it’s time. It’s time for us to meet, what do you say? This letter is going to be pretty short seeing we already know everything about each other, but I’d still like to talk to you. I was thinking maybe since you’re travelling so much, we could meet somewhere? I’d love to see who you actually are instead of talking to you like this. You said you’ll be in NYC late November right? Let’s plan on then. The dates set, November 28th, 2012. I’m looking forward to knowing who you really are.

closed the note and smiled to myself. Ari squeezed my arm and smiled at me too. I watched as Justin came back on the bus and we took off for Calgary.

“Did you read the note?” Justin asked as he got me hot chocolate.

“Yeah, we’re meeting in NYC in November. He says he’s travelling the world too, for his job as a businessman who does some important job for our country. I don’t know but he seems really formal and he’s my twin.”

“Is that possible? A formal version of you?” Justin joked.

I gave him a puppy-dog face and he hugged and kissed me and apologized before he laid down next to me and gave me my hot chocolate. I pretty much downed it before cuddling up next to Justin and falling asleep in his arms on the couch. The end of this night was good after all.
