Chapter 14:

Tuesday, May 22nd, 2012

2:00pm

“Please welcome, Justin Bieber.”

The crowd roared, the spotlights shined, and Justin walked on stage. As usual, he had a smile on his face, the smile that I always loved. I smiled myself and watched him sit down. The screams went on and on and on but eventually, Ellen began her interview with Justin. Justin was wearing a varsity jacket with the letter J on the front and BOYFRIEND on the back. His hair was slicked up and he just looked so happy.

“For school, we actually built it in so that I’m actually learning stuff that like matters.” Justin said. I could tell that he was somewhat nervous, but he was getting around it.

“Like what?” Ellen said, the crowd laughing in the background.

“A lot of stuff like x minus c squared like when am I gonna use that?”

Everyone laughed and I couldn’t hide mine either. Watching from backstage wasn’t that bad but I couldn’t see Justin right on, I watched from the cameras. It was fun to see how Justin reacted to everything. I’d met Ellen before the show and she was really funny and nice.

“It’s really cool that you did that to your car,” Ellen said about Justin’s chrome colored car that she gifted to him, “And (YN) likes the car?”

“Of course, I think.” Justin answered questioningly.

“And you guys go to basketball games a lot?”

I covered my mouth. I had a feeling Ellen was going to do something. Late last month Justin and I attended a Lakers game, but it was no big deal. Nothing happened, except for that one thing…

“Yep.” Justin simply answered.

“Do you really ever get a chance to watch the games or?...

“No, no, not really, no.” Justin said shaking his head.

A picture of us came up on the screen behind them and I laughed. Of course it was a picture of us kissing; I saw Justin blush a little.

“There’s a game going on!” Ellen commented.

“So much for that.” Justin mumbled.

I giggled at Justin’s little show. His facial expressions were priceless and the way he smiled. I loved watching him in interviews like I had before because he was so cute and always stuttered.

“What’s the back of your jacket say?” Ellen knowingly asked.

Justin stood and turned around, pointing to the back of his jacket where it said ‘BOYFRIEND’, “I actually got you a little something.”

“Oh really?”

“I did.” Justin smiled.

“Well give it to me.” Ellen demanded.

The crowd laughed as Justin reached into the bag next to him and pulled out another varsity jacket that was matching except it said girlfriend on the back of it and had an E on the front. Ellen stood up and put it on with Justin’s help. They hugged before sitting back down.

“Well you didn’t only bring me a gift, you told me backstage that you were announcing something very exciting.” Ellen said sitting down.

“I am guess what I’m announcing!”

“Well I know, I don’t want to guess.”

“I’m announcing my tour!” Justin said excitedly.

Ellen announced that everyone in the audience was getting tickets and they all stood up and screamed. Barely being able to talk, Ellen ended that part of the filming and it cut to commercial. Without an actual break, they just continued on into the next segment.

“Now Justin you graduated just about two weeks ago and you didn’t get a proper graduation, nor did (YN), so I’m gonna give you guys one, come over here.” Ellen motioned over across the stage.

Justin stood up and made his way over to the chairs that awaited his arrival. Wait, chairs? With an S? That meant there were two- oh… Two graduations, one for him and one for me… I had a feeling something was up when they were acting odd around me. Justin rushed backstage and took my hand, dragging me out on stage with him.

“Come on babe.” He rushed.

I laughed and followed along behind him with a quick pace. Someone helped me put on a little gown and Justin helped me up the stairs to the little chair next to his. Ellen stood in front of the single podium with her cap and gown on too. The crowd’s screams died down after a few seconds and we began.

“So you don’t mess up your hair I made you a special cap Justin.” Ellen said as an assistant came on to the stage with an odd looking hat.

It was attached to something that sat on his shoulders so it wouldn’t mess up his hair. I laughed and took my cap, just placing it on my head. The little music started and I laughed as Justin and I stared up at Ellen. Our little audience was four people, four familiar faces actually.

“Good Afternoon, welcome everyone, our audience, Justin’s manager Scooter, Justin’s road manager Kenny, Justin’s mother Pattie, and (YN)’s father Matt,” the crowd clapped and I just looked over and smiled at Justin. He had his hands in his lap and he smiled back at me with his hat bouncing above his head.

“Today, is an important day,” Ellen began, “We’re here to honor the accomplishments of the Biebs and the lovely (YN). Two great American’s, one happens to be from Canada. Guys, guys, you finally made it you’re graduating and I’m so proud of you believe it or not.”

We laughed at Ellen’s jokes she made throughout the speech and Justin got bored and stared at his tassel. He spun it in a circle by just moving slightly. I started to giggle and covered it up with my hand over my mouth.

“Can I say a few words?” Justin cut in.

“No you cannot say a few words.”

“Please?”

“Fine go ahead.”

Justin stood up and Ellen took his spot in the chair. I watched as Justin did his little speech now.

“I’d like to um, thank my sponsors,” Justin went on with random sponsors he must’ve thought of on the spot.

I laughed yet again and Ellen made me stand up. I stood between her and Justin and she pulled out two diplomas.

“Well it’s my honor to present you two with these diplomas.”

I took mine in my hand and examined it, “Is this real?” I asked.

She assisted me in taking the ribbon off and unfolding it to reveal an actual diploma. Justin did the same and made a high pitched ‘awe’ in the process.

“It’s official.” Justin said as we both held them up to the crowd.

They said Ellen Academy on them too which was pretty hilarious. Justin turned to me and before I realized it, he quickly pressed his lips against mine. When he pulled away I stared into his eyes and smiled. He pulled away and stepped off of the tiny stage and ran to the crowd, giving a girl his graduation cap. I threw mine into the crowd and the cameras cut off for commercial. Justin came back to me and we walked backstage together with our parents.

“That was the best graduation ever.” I laughed as I held onto Justin’s arm.

We went into the dressing room allowing Justin to change for his performance. He just took off his gown and jacket and wore a gray shirt. I sat in the dressing room and tweeted from my phone: @(yourusername): I love you so much @EllenDeGeneres. After that, I sat in the crowd with a few fans and watched Justin’s performance. The fans were freaking out that I was with them and I took pictures for them and with them too. They loved me, surprisingly, and I don’t think any of us left there unhappy.

9:00pm

I stretched my arms up and towards the hotel ceiling as soon as I awoke from my nap. Gosh, it was already 9, I’d been sleeping for 3 hours. My sleep schedule was so messed up, but I didn’t even care anymore. It was quite hard to sleep with the fans outside of the hotel screaming their heads off. I sighed and looked around with no sign of Justin. Well that was a bit odd. He already did a little secluded concert here in Paris, so where would he go? I glanced on the balcony… no Justin. I decided to step out on the balcony anyways to look down at the humongous crowd of screaming girls and some boys. Their screams got louder when they saw me, which was a little surprising too. I waved down at them and blew kisses; I didn’t know what to do after that so I went back inside.

I heard the door to our room shut and I looked to the bed where a long skinny box laid with a note stuck on the top. I grabbed it and read the note.

(YN),

Put this on and meet me downstairs.

-J

I folded the note and stuck it under the box. I opened up the peculiar box to find a dress laid out perfectly with a pair of heels and some other accessories on top. I smiled and held up the dress against my body and looked into the long mirror. Not bad for a boy, and although I didn’t like dresses, I was going to still wear this for him.

I did up my hair and makeup before I slipped the dress over my head and completed my outfit with some heels and jewelry. I looked really fancy, and I actually liked it. Although being lazy in comfy clothes had its perks, so did dressing up like a princess.

I left the room with a key tucked into a pocket in my clutch and headed to the elevator. I felt odd because there were no body guards or anything like usual, but it was definitely nice. The elevator light buzzed on and a little ding sounded. The doors separated revealing Justin standing in front of me with his hands behind his back. He was wearing a normal outfit with his hair slicked back under his snapback. He looked me up and down and smiled to himself.

“This,” he said as he pulled his hand out from behind himself, “is for you.”

He presented himself with a single red rose with a long green stem. I smiled wider, now stepping out of the elevator, and took it in my hands. I smelt the sweet aroma and bit my lip.

“May I ask what this is all about?” I said as I linked arms with him.

We walked forward, without any words from him, towards the lobby doors. Cameras outside flashed but neither Justin nor I ducked our heads. I was too smiley and happy and proud to either way. We were whisked into a truck and I sat next to Justin, leaning my legs towards him.

“We are going on a late dinner date. I want to treat my lady to something special while we’re here in Paris.” Justin answered my question.

I held my rose in one hand and his hand in the other with our fingers intertwined. The car ride seemed like it was just seconds long, literally, we got there so quickly. We stepped out of the car without any lights flashing and walked into a fancy restaurant. Fancy wasn’t exactly me, but it worked.

“Bieber.” Justin said as we approached the podium with a tall skinny man behind it.

“Bieber… yes… right this way.” He said skimming his list a second time for Bieber.

We followed him to a secluded spot in a back corner and sat down. I was sort of uncomfortable from all of this fancy stuff, I felt like I was a rich classy girl, but I knew I wasn’t. I glanced at the menu and saw things that were very unfamiliar to me. I looked up at Justin about the same time he did and we stared at each other.

“You have no idea what any of this is either, do you?” Justin said with a smirk on his face.

“Not at all.” I answered with a giggle, covering my mouth.

Justin pushed back away from the table and stood up and walked around to my side, holding out his hand to grab mine. I grabbed it and stood up and he pulled me into him, our bodies colliding.

“Shall we hit up the nearest diner, miss (YLN)?” Justin asked in an accent.

“Why, Mr. Bieber, that’d be lovely.” I replied in the same accent.

I gripped my clutch in one hand and hooked my arm with Justin’s. We walked out of the restaurant and took a left, walking along the streets of Paris, searching for a diner.

Chapter 13:
Monday, April 30th, 2012
4:00pmy

Exactly a week had passed and after doing a promo tour around Europe, Justin and I were finally back home. Interview… after interview… after interview… that was all we did! I had to admit that I did have an amazing time, but I was tired out and glad to be home. Next up, release of the Boyfriend video on May 2nd. But right now, we were both only focused on the dinner that we had to get ready for.
I pushed my hair back with a head band and fixed up my hair. Although we were just seeing my dad, I wanted to look nice seeing I hadn’t sat down and talked with him in forever, so I wore a nice outfit.
I finished brushing my teeth and turned to Justin who was nervously waiting for me. “Justin, everything will be fine.”
“I know, but I just want to make sure everything goes well for you tonight.” He smiled nervously.
I laughed and pecked his lips lightly, leaving a tingling sensation on mine. I pulled away and grabbed his hand, dragging him out of the bathroom and downstairs. I slipped on some sandals and grabbed my purse and waited by the door for Justin. He closed the door behind us and we walked hand-in-hand across the street. I could just sense that Justin was nervous just by holding his hand. I couldn’t help but silently laugh and smile to myself.
We walked up to the door and I twisted the knob and opened it up. I walked inside but wasn’t greeted by anyone. We took off our shoes and followed the familiar smells to the kitchen. Justin stayed close behind me like a lost puppy.
“Clarissa, hey.” I said as I approached her. She stepped away from the counter to hug me before giving me a huge smile.
“This is Justin, as you already know.” I introduced them again.
Justin gave her a heartwarming hug before we sat at the counter chairs. “So where’s dad?”
Clarissa turned around and wiped her hands off on a towel, “He’s in his office, would you mind telling him dinner’s ready?”
“I’ll be right back.” I whispered to Justin who looked very uncomfortable just being in my house.
I laughed to myself before exiting the room to find my dad. I poked my head into his office and he sensed me and turned and smiled. He stood up right away, dropping his pen on the desk, and walked over to me, hugging me tightly.
“You’re killing me.” I mumbled as he squeezed me tighter.
“Sorry, I’ve just missed you so much.” He whispered.
It finally felt like a normal night back when I was happy when I was like 12. I smiled as I skipped down the hall back to the kitchen. Justin was helping set up the kitchen table by himself and I decided to help him out. I corrected his little mistakes and it was just me and him in the dining room.
“Justin, everything’s going good so far.” I whispered excitedly.
“That’s probably because your dad hasn’t seen me yet.” Justin whispered back.
I rolled my eyes and sat down in my spot at the far end of the table. Justin was across from me leaving the spots on our right and left open. My dad and Clarissa carried the food into the dining room and set everything down before us. When everyone settled and was seated, I glanced over at Justin who was waiting patiently to eat.
“Let’s pray.” I said quietly as I held out my hands.
Every time we ate dinner, we prayed, which meant joining hands with the people on both sides of you. I silently watched as Justin and my dad grabbed each other’s hands gently. I was screaming YAY in my head but I didn’t say anything out loud besides a short pray.
“Amen.” We all said in harmony.
We began eating and small talk began again. I hated small talk, especially when my dad and Clarissa only talked to me and didn’t bother to realize that Justin was there too.
“So, Justin, tells us a bit about yourself.” My dad finally spoke up.
My heart was beating fast and I was staring Justin in the eyes. He glanced over to me before looking at my dad and swallowing some water to wash down the food.
“Well, I’m currently working on a new album and a tour and just some stuff like that.” Justin went on and on about him and his family and everything, LITERALLY EVERYTHING, he could tell. My dad was nosey and asked him question after question like he was interrogating him.
“Alright, I’ve asked you a lot of questions, but the only thing I’ve been wanting to ask you is… Why are you with my daughter?”
I was the only person in the room that appeared to go numb. I was scared that my dad was going to freak out if Justin slipped up on any of his words or anything whatsoever. I closed my eyes and set down my fork, already finished with dinner along with everyone else. When I looked over to Justin, he seemed confident and nothing got in his way.
“There are so many reasons but overall, she’s a beautiful and intelligent girl. She has many different traits but the one that sticks out to me the most would be her sense for adventure, and that’s why I met her in the first place. She’s so free-minded and I could go on and on but I won’t.”
My dad looked at me, then Clarissa, then back to Justin. We all waited for his reply and I was not expecting anything tonight. I should’ve came more prepared.
“Well, Justin,” my dad said as he stood up and approached Justin with an open hand, “although I hate to see my little girl with a boy, I don’t think there could be anybody better than you. Just please, take care of her and treat her well.”
They shook hands and Justin stood up and thanked him. It was like he was getting permission to marry me but it was just so that we could be together. I was freaking out on the inside as we cleaned up the table and set the dishes in the kitchen. Clarissa dismissed us and let us free from doing the dishes. My dad, Justin, and I all went into the living room where we conversed for a while. We still had an hour or so before we had to be at the studio.
“So Justin Bieber, can I hear you sing?” My dad asked politely. They were just getting along so well and it made me so happy!
“Of course.” Justin looked to me and I stood up and grabbed his hand, dragging him across the room to the piano.
I sat down on the bench and found the right keys to play. While Justin was doing interviews, I learned most of his songs on the piano. I was very good at the piano and I was excited to surprise Justin. My dad moved to sit closer and Justin sat next to me to sing while I played. He caught on to the song soon enough and began singing while I played. This was my favorite song on the piano so far.
“I don’t know how I got here, I knew it wouldn’t be easy. But your faith in me was so clear…”
Justin sang with his angelic voice as he always did. I played as I had been taught and Justin smiled at me because he had no idea that I knew how to even play the piano. We finished up the song together and I turned and bowed as best I could. My dad was in shock and I couldn’t help but laugh at his reaction. He clapped along with Clarissa who had come in sometime in the middle.
“Wow, you really are as good as they say.” My dad said in awe.
I laughed and checked my phone. It was already time to go! I didn’t want to leave because I would’ve much rather spent some quality time at home, but I was dying to go to the studio with Justin too. Besides, after this dinner, my dad encouraged me to go with Justin. He seemed proud that I had found a guy like Justin. He whispered something to Justin before we left, but I didn’t hear. All I cared about was that they got along and that’s it.
We sat in the car on the way to the studio and Justin had the hugest smile on his face. He had one hand on the wheel and the other holding mine with our fingers intertwined. He glanced over at me every now and then and just simply smiled and shook his head.
“What?” I asked as we pulled into the parking lot of the studio.
“Nothing, just you…”
I rolled my eyes and stepped out of the car meeting him around the other side. He put his arm around me and we clumsily walked into the building.
“I have a little surprise for you.” Justin said as we approached the room.
“What?”
“You’ll see.”
He smiled and squeezed me tighter to him. I laughed and we turned the corner and walked into the room. I sat down in the comfy chair in the room before anybody else could and everyone sighed. I just laughed and pulled out my phone, twirling it in my hands. Fredo and a few other song-writers and editors were in the room, but no surprise?
“Justin what was the sur-“
“Am I late?”
All of our heads turned to see Jay Z enter the room, pushing his sunglasses down to look at us. He took them off completely and Justin hugged him as a greeting. I cupped my mouth in my hands and mentally freaked out.
“This is your surprise.” Justin laughed.
I stood up and shakily hugged him. I don’t know why I was so nervous, but I did love me some Jay Z music. We all, and by we I mean me, sat around and watched the whole process of editing the songs and finalizing things. I took some pictures from various phones while Fredo recorded some film. I wondered why he was always recording everything, maybe for memories or something.
“Man, this album is going to be a hit.” Jay Z said as he shook hands with Justin at the end of the night.
“I’m hoping so.” Justin prayed.
“That’s just the beginning though,” one of the other guys butted in, “after Justin comes in a few more times, the album will be ready to finalize.”
Everyone went quiet and I looked at Justin. He looked up and just mumbled ‘yes’. I laughed and before everyone left, I got a picture with Jay Z and a picture of me and Justin. But I stood on my tip toes and kissed Justin in the picture, so that I had a new wallpaper. And maybe it’d go on Insta one day. Just not anytime soon…
We left the studio and went home as usual. I was so glad that everything was just going my way… now where was the bad thing to ruin my streak?

Chapter 12:
Monday, April 23rd, 2012
9:00pm

“You literally went to my house and knocked on the door?” I said as I pushed away from Justin in disbelief, “Are you crazy?”
“Yeah… it wasn’t too smart, and I really was thinking that he’d realize that I was a good guy so I wasn’t expecting him to punch me and all of that stuff…” Justin’s voice trailed off.
“Oh my God, my boyfriend’s crazy. My boyfriend has literally gone crazy.” I said.
“Hey now, you chose to be with me.” Justin laughed, “But honestly, I’m not that sore at all, it’s surprising.”
I laid in his arms and we talked and talked. It was nice to have my Justin back now. I could honestly lay there for hours and talk to him about everything, which is how I planned the next 10 hours to be. I grabbed my phone and tweeted out a few things as usual. @(yourusername): so earlier I embarrassed myself by hitting my head on something, but hey, it somewhat fixed things.
After that I put my phone down and looked up, “Justin, what were you writing earlier?”
He looked down at me and smiled before looking over towards his notebook. “It was a note, for you. I want you to read it while I’m doing my interview. It’s all in French, so not many other people can understand it but you and me.”
“Good thing I finished French early then right?” I smiled.
I finished my French class earlier in Florida because I was already ahead. I asked if I could take the final and believe it or not… I passed! Of course with help from Justin while I was studying, which really did help a lot.
“Why during your interview?” I asked.
“Because, when I see the smile on your face it’ll just make the whole interview better.”
I smile and laid my head back on his chest. I liked moments like this, when we made up and just laid together talking. It was so hard to stay mad at Justin either way. I felt my phone buzz, and again, and again, jeez the messages just kept coming. I looked at the screen and saw the name. iMessage from Dad. I swallowed hard and unlocked my phone, reading the messages. I thought to myself, if my dad says something to upset me, it’ll just ruin the whole moment, so I was kinda scared to, but I still did.
FROM: Dad
I’ve made a choice that I think you and me both will be happy with. I want you in my life (YN), and if that means putting up with… him, then I will do whatever it takes. Just promise me that you’ll come back soon? I miss you so much and I can’t stand seeing your face in the news instead of in your room every night. Please, come home. Love, dad.
I moved my thumb to type back a message but all I could think to say was thank you. I wrote: Thank you, I love you dad. This means the world to me… see you soon. And then I locked my phone and put it in my sweatpants pocket.
“Justin, can you sing me a song?” I asked with my eyes closed as I cuddled closer to him.
“Of course, any preferences?”
“I just want to hear your voice.”
I awaited his reply and when he did, I was surprised. I’d only heard this song once before, but the lyrics still rambled in my head.
“Across the ocean… across the sea… starting to forget the way you look at me now.”
He sang at a slow pace, dragging out each note and ending it greatly. I sang with him silently and eventually, I fell asleep to his voice as if it were my own personal lullaby.

I awoke and it was already 6:00am. We were landing in about an hour and Justin was still passed out. I drowsy stood up and yawned. I made two cups of coffee, one for me and one for Justin. When I turned around with them in my hands, I wasn’t surprised to see Justin opening his eyes and smiling. I walked over to him and handed him one. He took one big sip before setting it down.
“Are we there yet?” he said in a groggy voice.
I shook my head no and sipped my coffee before pulling it just far enough away from my lips to talk, “No, but I have other good news.”
I didn’t bother to wait for a reply and I just jumped into it, “I talked to my dad.”
Justin seemed startled and he just tensed up and stared at me. I put my free hand on his chest and calmed him somewhat.
“I planned a dinner with him when we get back on the 30th-“
“I have to go to-“
“The studio. I know, but this won’t be a late dinner. We’ll be at the studio by 8, I promise.”
Justin looked very uneasy about all of this. I breathed out slowly and took another sip of my hot coffee, hoping to get a positive reaction from Justin. “Alright, fine. But only because I like you.” Justin agreed.
“You like me? Since when?” I joked.
He pulled me in and I set my coffee cup down. I pressed my lips against his and ours moved in sync as I laid on top of him. I smiled in between kissed and I couldn’t help but laugh too. I pulled away when I was out of breath and looked into Justin’s eyes. He had messy hair, bags under his eyes, and I could tell that he was out of it, but he still looked hot. I’m sure I looked the same with my rat’s nest of hair and everything to, but still, he was hot.
We landed in London and got ready to get off of the plane. Justin put on a yellow snapback, put a pair of pinkish purple beats around his neck, and took off his sweatshirt. I just left my hair up into a ponytail and wore an average outfit. I knew we’d be stopping to see fans so I wanted to look decent, right?
We entered the airport and the screams weren’t that bad, that was until Justin was seen. All of the fans literally crowded around and the bodyguards weren’t much help, to be honest. Our bags were taken care of, but it was just hard in general to get through this crowd. Justin stopped abruptly and started taking pictures and signing things. I was just going to stand behind him and wait but I felt a light tug on my arm and I turned to see a girl a bit younger than me freaking out.
I smiled at her and she could barely push the words out of her mouth, “Can I please get a picture with you?”
I was thrown back by her words. She wanted a picture with me? I fumbled with my hands and shoved my phone and everything in my purse handbag thingy and grabbed her phone, taking a picture with her. She yelled thanks and literally cried. SHE CRIED. All because she got a picture with me. Of all people, ME. Now I was practically fangirling. People liked me! Nobody knew how huge this was to me, like seriously. And suddenly I was taking pictures with fans and then I was taking group pictures with fans and Justin and it was all just a big commotion. We were only there for a few minutes but hey, those few minutes of fame were THE BEST MINUTES OF MY LIFE.
“Did you have fun?” Justin laughed when we got into the car.
“OH MY GOD! Your fans actually like me I mean I thought that maybe they’d hate me because we’re dating but most of the girls there liked em and wanted pictures and- AH!” I screamed.
Justin laughed and me and puckered his lips. I pressed mine against his but pulled away quickly because I was still freaking out. It wasn’t the fact that they knew me, it was the fact that they liked me. I was always afraid of millions of people hating me but some of them liked me, like 500 of them, and literally that was all that mattered. I knew it was a small number but still, the feeling I got was a rush.
We arrived at the hotel and Justin changed right away. He had an interview in a half an hour that we had to go to and that’s where I got to read my note. I wondered what it could possibly be about, I mean he was writing it while I was mad at him and it was in French. This would be interesting.
Before we left, I yelled behind me for Justin, “Don’t forget your notebook!”
He grabbed it and we rushed out of the hotel. We weren’t late, but Justin wanted to greet the fans outside of the hotel before we went to the interview. I waited in the car and tweeted off of my phone a few picture of me and Justin’s fans. @(yourusername): TODAY WAS AMAZING I LOVE YOU GUYS
@(yourusername): I’m just happy that you guys like me, it gives me hoppeeee
I slipped my phone in my pocket just as Justin got in the car. We were off to the interview and I think I was more excited than anybody.
We arrived at the interview and I couldn’t help but tweet again. This time though, it was just about how much Justin loved his beliebers, because he loved them more than anything in this world. I sat with Fredo behind Justin and watched. I thought I’d be in a different room, but Fredo offered for me to come in while he filmed Justin’s interview and took a few pictures. I decided to pull out the note while they talked about his album and tour. I’d heard it a billion times and could repeat everything by now. I opened the notebook to the page and read it in my head.
(YN), you may or may not ever see this but I had to tell you this somehow. I know you’re mad at me right now but I seriously didn’t mean to hurt you in any way, shape, or form. I hate seeing you mad at me and I definitely can’t stand being this far away from you when I know I could be next to you holding you in my arms. I really want to make things better and I just hope you understand that I didn’t try to upset you, I tried to make things better. I’m not very good at that… I should probably stop doing that shouldn’t I? Anyways, (YN) I want to be the one to take care of you when you’re sick, and whenever or wherever besides that. You mean the world to me. Love, Justin.
I smiled and bit my lip. The note wasn’t much, but it meant a lot to me personally. I looked up and thanked God for everything turning out like this. Justin caught me smiling and turned in the middle of his interview and smile at me.
“That reminds me,” The interviewer cut in with his thick accent, “We had a question from a fan… uh, what does it take to be a good boyfriend?”
Justin turned to me and smile again before turning back to the microphone, “Well man, you just gotta treat your girl right and make her feel like she’s a princess, because she is.”
“I see… And not to get off track or anything but (YN) can you come over here?”
I looked around and pointed to myself getting a nod and a push form Fredo in return. I laughed and walked up next to Justin sitting in the seat next to him.
“(YN), would you say Justin’s a good boyfriend?” he asked with a little laugh.
I stared at them like they were crazy, the interviewers, “Of course he is! Justin only does everything to make me happy, and that’s all that matters."

Chapter 11:

Sunday, April 22nd 2012

4:00pm

“Pick up the phone Justin.” I pleaded as I paced back and forth calling Justin.

“This is Justin, lea-“

I pressed end on the call and set my phone down. I had an aching headache for some reason (probably for thinking too much) and I could NOT get rid of it. All I needed was a hug and some kisses from Justin or something and I’d feel a little bit better. I was still a little bit mad at him, but I had a strong feeling he wouldn’t do anything to my dad to hurt me like that.

He was supposed to be grabbing some food before our 12 hour long flight to London, but it was taking him forever! I had already taken a bath, shaving every part of my body, got ready, and packed, and he still wasn’t here. Hopefully nothing bad had happened to him. I decided to dial his number again. I typed in the numbers yet again and pressed call. Ring… Ring… Ring… Ring-

I heard the front door open and I smiled, pressing end on the call and walking into the foyer. My phone almost slipped out of my hands when I saw Justin.

“Justin? What are you doing?” I laughed.

He had his hood up covering his face and I couldn’t understand why in this kind of weather. I walked closer to him and reached out to pull it down but he backed away.

“I’ll be right back.” He replied quickly before rushing upstairs.

I looked down and dropped my arms to my sides. Why was he acting so odd? Of course, the first thing to come to my mind was he was cheating on me. Was he? He might have hickeys and he’s hiding them from me and- I need to stop worrying. Justin wouldn’t do that? Would he? Ugh, hopefully not. I trusted and respected him too much.

I followed him up the stairs after about ten minutes. He still hadn’t come out of our room and I was getting suspicious. I lightly knocked on the door and listened with my ear, “Justin?”

No answer. I slowly pushed the door open to reveal that he wasn’t even in the room. The bathroom. I made my way over to the bathroom and without knocking, I pushed open the door. I could hear a ruckus in the bathroom of Justin rushing around.

“What are you doing?” I said, fully opening the door. Justin was looking away from me turned away from me, covering his face and struggling to put on a shirt. I saw two or three darker purplish spots on his back and it sent pain to down my spine, like someone was sticking knives into my back, just looking at it.

What the fuck Justin!? What happened!?” I screamed as I ran to his aid. I forced him to stop trying to put a shirt on and threw the shirt to the floor. He was holding a wet washcloth in his hand that was once white, but now stained red with blood. His lip was somewhat swollen but not too noticeable. I was worried out of my mind now.

“Nothing.” He mumbled out as he found a seat on the toilet.

“Justin this isn’t nothing! Who did this to you?” I pleaded and begged for an answer but Justin just sat there with disappointment in his eyes and sorrow in his heart. I didn’t even need him to answer my question, the answer came to me without him.

I backed away from Justin in disgust and tears swelled my eyes. He stood up and held out his arm to grab me but I pushed it away. He limped towards me but I backed farther away out of the bathroom. He followed me as best he could until I stopped him.

“After everything that happened, you still don’t understand do you? Just- just… can we go… now?” I avoided eye contact with him.

“Baby I-“

“Don’t- don’t call me that. Just clean up and meet me outside.”

My breathe was shaky as I breathed out slowly. I stumbled out of the bedroom and down the stairs like a drunk person. Justin didn’t understand that my dad was my only dad. It didn’t matter if I hated him right now, he was still my dad. I had to clear some things up with him before we left.

I knocked lightly on the door and just seconds later Clarissa opened it. I awkwardly stood there, not sure what to say. “Hey.”

“(YN),” she embraced me tightly like she hadn’t seen me in years, “what are you doing here?”

“My dad… is he okay? I’m worried.”

“He’s fine, I think it’s Justin you should be worried about.”

“I know, and I am, I just need to see my dad.”

She gladly let me in and I knew exactly where my dad would be. I knocked on his office door gently before pushing it open slowly.

“Clarissa I really don’t- (YN).” His voice seemed so fragile as if it were going to break any second.

I looked into his eyes and I saw a look my dad had never given me. It was a look of regret, and happiness. I walked forward and stood silently for a few minutes. I couldn’t help but have tears in my eyes as I spoke.

“What you did to Justin wasn’t okay. I-I really like him, dad, and I don’t understand why you don’t and I probably never will, but can’t you just accept that I’m happy?” my voice cracked as I pleaded out to him.

“That boy is no good-“

“Stop!” I screamed louder than I had at Justin, “You keep saying that but it’s not going to change anything. Justin’s done so much for me and you- you just think he’s a horrible person. All I’m asking for is for you to give him a chance, just a chance, to make you see that he is what I say he is.”

“I-“

“Don’t even say it. Don’t come up with some shitty excuse. I’m done, it’s your choice now. If you want me in your life, you’ll have to have Justin in your life. Just think about that; don’t you want to walk me down the aisle at my wedding? Or be a grandpa to my children?”

My dad sat in his office chair motionless and speechless. I needed to leave for the airport soon so I was hoping he’d just make this quick. But he never said anything, he just sat there like he was thinking.

“Well, make your choice, until then I’ll be waiting.”

I turned on my heel and left the room, left the house, and went back to the truck that picked us up. Justin walked out about five minutes later and joined me in the backseat. I stared out of the window all the way to the airport. I was avoiding any contact with Justin until I felt comfortable again, like I could trust him.

We sat in the jet as it took off, still in silence. I just put my headphones in and listened to the music on my phone while I leaned back in my seat. Justin was on the other side of the plane and every time I glanced over to him, I caught him staring at me. I just looked away and minded my own business. Nobody said that it would be this hard.

Justin walked across the street with confidence that this might actually go well. He took deep breaths as he approached the driveway with his head held high. He thought that there was no way (YN)’s dad was going to be mad after he explained himself. He’d get (YN)’s dad to love him and everything would be okay, at least that was the plan.

He knocked on the door and tugged at the neck of his shirt in nervousness. Matt answered the door with a stern expression immediately following. He tensed up and clenched his fists.

“Mr. (YLN),” Justin nervously said, “I know you don’t want to see me, or even live by me, but I just came over to apologize. I didn’t mean to hurt you or anyone else in any type of way. I just want you to know that (YN) is in the good hands of me and my crew and she won’t get hurt, I can promise you that.”

Matt shook his head and laughed unexpectedly. Justin was confused but he stood his ground with a blank expression on his face.

“You’re taking care of her?” he laughed again, “You have no idea what it means to take care of another person. Do you realize that you’re responsible for her if something bad happens? If anything happens, for that matter?

“I do realize that, and I can handle it, trust me sir I’ve been taking care of her for-“

“For what? A few weeks? Come on, you’re just a kid who’s going to hurt my daughter. I’m done here, you should’ve never came in the first place.”

Matt backed away and went to shut the door, but Justin stuck his foot in the way. He felt little pain in his foot but he didn’t move it. He had to prove to Matt that he was the right guy for (YN), and he wasn’t giving up now.

“Look, I’ve tried to be nice but now you’re just being a dick. I apologized and everything and you’re still acting like this! I’m trying to act like an adult now but it’s hard to have any respect for you when you can’t even consider anything. What is it going to take for you to realize that I’m a good guy?” Justin practically yelled in his face.

The door swung open and Justin felt confident enough to take a step back and stand with a blank expression on his face. He tried his best to not show any emotion whatsoever although he had to admit to himself that he was intimidated by this large man.

“When you leave my daughter.”

Matt took a step forward and was just inches away from Justin’s face. Justin could feel his breath but he didn’t back up, instead, he stood his ground like he promised himself. And that’s what got him in trouble.

I awoke to the sound of a pencil writing on paper. I glanced over with my squinted eyes to Justin who was writing away on the paper as fast as he could. It was either angry writing or sad writing, I couldn’t tell just yet. I bit my lip and checked my phone; I’d been asleep for only about an hour.

I pulled out my headphones and tried my best to look over at what Justin was doing without letting him know that I was awake. He quickly shot a look at me and I dropped back into my seat so quick I hit my head on something hard.

“Ow.” I whispered, hoping Justin hadn’t seen that.

I heard his soft chuckle and I looked over towards him. He was shaking his head as he set his notebook in the seat next to him. Well, now he definitely knew that I was awake. I smiled myself and sat up straight.

“It’s not funny.” I whined.

“I’m sorry babe- are you okay?” he stuttered when he said 'babe'. Probably because he knew that I was mad at him, well not anymore, so he just thought that I was mad at him.

I made a pouty lip and shook my head no. He threw his head back laughing and I fake whimpered.

“Awe come here.”

Justin stood up and pulled his sweatpants down before moving my stuff and sitting in the seat next to me. I leaned into him as he opened his arms wide to pull me in. The warmth of his sweatshirt felt like heaven now that I wasn’t mad at all anymore.

He kissed my forehead lightly and we rocked back and forth together as he spoke, “Can we talk?”

“I don’t really have a choice seeing we’re stuck on this jet for 10 more hours so… yeah, that’d be great.”
